A record number of people took part in Veganuary last year and took the pledge to eat plant based for the first month of the year.
Last year 46% of participants said their main reason for taking part in Veganuary was for animals, whilst 43% said they did it for their health and the environment.
A study carried out by Oxford University’s department of public health found that eating meat no more than three times a week could save the NHS £1.2billion and significantly reduce deaths from heart disease.
