● 5th April 2016 – Music

Quality over quantity is what they say and this week Birmingham is exercising this maxim to the max.  Scotty T’s World Tour at the O2 Academy there are some real high calibre events going on around the city. Take it easy and have a peep at what Before the Sol have selected this week:

Thursday 7th April

P.A.M X Carhartt WIP In Store Party

Ladies that love Carharrt, bargains, music and men that love ladies, this one’s for you. An in-store party to mark the launch of the collaboration of Melbourne born, lifestyle brand P.A.M (Perks and Mini) with Carharrt W.I.P. A little bit out of town at Resorts World shopping centre but with big discounts on outlet prices, free Prosecco and no doubt very cool vibes it will definitely be worth the trip.

Friday 8th April

An Evening With Harvey Sutherland (Live) @ Hare & Hounds

100-person capacity and a name intrinsically associated to label MCDE this will be an intimate night of synth-y goodness. Performing a live set, Sutherland will have you mesmerized, glued to the spot and sober. Along with support from brands that have brought Chaos in the CBD, Dan Shake and Bradley Zero to Birmingham this will be a night of quality selectors and musicians not to be missed.

Saturday 9th April

A Guy Called Gerald & Nightmares On Wax @ Hare & Hounds

Not surprisingly, this is a sold out show. Tickets are floating about on the Facebook page if you were a little slow but still super keen.

Saturday 9th April

B35 @ Spotlight

Formerly a Leeds based night, B35 is getting into the Birmingham groove. They join the Spotlight family and keep the focus on the party with a sweet music policy of funk and disco through to acid house and afro beat, cheap entry and an invitation to the dance floor. It’s the place to head on Saturday if you can’t cop a ticket for the Hare & Hounds.

Saturday 9th April

Peaches & Cream Old Skool RnB Launch Party @ Lab11

Old skool is definitely the new cool and if you love to get down to those funky jamz check out the new kids on the block Peaches & Cream. Featuring music from Usher, LL Cool J, Blackstreet, 112, Justin Timberlake, Ashanti, Foxy Brown, Aaliyah, Jay Z, Ja Rule and many, many more… Be weary, it’s R&B on the outside but heavy techno (MAGNIFY Presents: ALEX NIGGEMANN (Aeon, Watergate)) on the inside, a slightly obscure night of music programming from Lab11.
