BabMag Selects Monday 16th May

Friday, oh Friday. The day when shifts roll into high spirts and being sensible becomes some-what optional. It’s by far the best day of the week and this week Birmingham’s managing to make Friday even better by blessing us with one of our all time favourite producers.

So without any further delay, here are the events Before the Sol have selected for this weekend:

Friday 20th May
Henry Wu @ Hare & Hounds

London’s Loose Lips team up with Forward Birmingham to elevate Brum into the magnificent, sounds of Henry Wu. Wu has played out all over the world, but makes a very special, intimate Midlands debut at the venue that epitomises forward-thinking night life in Birmingham; the Hare & Hounds. Supporting Wu is one of Brum’s funkiest house and disco DJs, Jack Baber. He’s done a little mix to get you mentally prepared for the musical madness that will be Friday. Friday 20th May
Brame & Hamo @ Lab11

Pagoda transforms Lab11 once more into the Oriental Temple, this time with the addition of the Irish, DJ duo; Brame & Hamo. With soul, jazz and hip-hop inspired sounds but keeping things on the up-beat, house flex, this will be a night to wiggle those hips too. Tickets are still on sale for £10 online.

Saturday 21st May
Mama Roux’s Showcase @ Mama Roux’s

The New Orleans inspired venue gets to flaunt all its fabulous décor on Saturday for its new, monthly showcase. A night of classy, old school entertainment, complete with a six-piece brass band, Burlesque dancers and feather boas galore! Mama Roux’s is coming alive. Free before 10pm and £5 after get your glad rags on and enjoy the show.

Saturday 21st May
Laura Muvla @ The O2 Institute

Birmingham’s soulful, power house comes to blow the roof off her home town crowd. The vibe will be electric inside the Institute and if her last video is anything to go by, the production should knock your socks off too!

Sunday 22nd May
Kings Heath Dining Club

You get to enjoy one of Birmingham’s favourite Friday hangouts; Digbeth Dining Club twice this week! The food trucks that fill our nostril’s and belly’s with delicious smells and dishes are setting up shop in Kings Heath this Sunday. In conjunction with the Hare, enjoy some great food and music that suitably matches the insane flavours.

Sunday 22nd May
Jo Enright (Phoenix Nights) @ Hare & Hounds
