Although still in it’s early form, our BAB mix series has already delivered a catalog of varied genres and vibes from our city’s sound curators and party makers.
Our next instalment comes from Trieste, friend and contributor to the platform, who in the past few years has positioned himself on the international stage as an intelligent selector, promotor and label owner.
In 2019 Trieste won the Pirate Prodigy competition and more recently the Mixmag x Printworks lockdown competition, entered by thousands of DJs around the globe.
His abilities behind the decks have seen him support the likes of Daniel Avery, HAAi, Young Marco, Shanti Celeste and Leo Pol with some incredible dates unfortunately canned due to Covid-19, including a support slot for Bonobo.
His most recent feat has seen him turn his ear to curation in the form of Erbium Records. Teaming up with other creatives in the city (Josie Carder and Oliver Green), the label has a clear goal of releasing full-bodied, well-produced and highly interesting music with visual art playing an equal role in its existence.
With the uncertainty of not knowing when we’ll next be on a dance floor, you can catch Trieste on one of his monthly residencies on Noods where he explores psychedelic club focussed music and on and Melodic Distraction more ambient/leftfield/global sounds.
In true Trieste style, this diverse, genre-hopping mix will have you locked in from start to finish. Enjoy.
